Excessive Alcohol Use and Risks to Men’s Health. Men are more likely than women to drink excessively.Excessive drinking is associated with significant increases in short-term risks to health and safety, and the risk increases as the amount of drinking increases.

Having more than one drink a day for women or two drinks for men increases the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, atrial fibrillation, and stroke. Risk is greater in er people due to binge drinking, which may result in or accidents.
